All New 2019 Jeep Wrangler
Posted on July 30, 2020
After a big set of changes for everyone's beloved off-road vehicle, fans are wondering what changes are coming for the 2019 Jeep Wrangler. Caledon Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram has answers about the next Jeep Wrangler model year, so you're prepared for the new features. Fortunately, many of the new improvements from 2018 carry over, making the Jeep Wrangler a true legend, even among Jeep SUVs.
Safety Tech
While there aren't too many big changes to the Jeep Wrangler for 2019, there are some additions to the safety equipment. That's great news, considering plenty of owners use these vehicles on public roads in addition to trails. Safety technologies help with avoiding potentially dangerous situations, keeping everyone from harm's way.
Many shoppers choose the optional Advanced Safety Group package to the Jeep Wrangler. It bundles together multiple technologies and is a convenient way to upgrade overall safety for the SUV. For 2019 this package now includes adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning.
When you're traveling on the highway, adaptive cruise control adds not only more security, but also greater convenience. You set a speed, just like with traditional cruise control. But, when traffic ahead slows, the vehicle automatically slows to maintain a safe following distance. As the cars in your lane speed up, the system resumes the speed you originally set.
Appearance
Even after a complete redesign, the Jeep Wrangler retained the iconic look everyone knows and loves. That means the slotted grille and round headlights carry over for 2019, along with the new details like fender-mounted turn signals.
The big cosmetic shift for the 2019 Jeep Wrangler is a new paint colour called Bikini. It will inject some fun into the lineup, adding a little more variety to keep things fresh.
Performance
One of the biggest reasons to buy the Jeep Wrangler is the amazing performance this legendary SUV provides. It's the ultimate go-anywhere vehicle. Canadians love it for great winter capabilities, not to mention the kind of performance to take on really rugged conditions off the road.
For 2019, two engine options carry over. The standard 3.6-litre Pentastar V-6 is a proven workhorse, putting 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque at your command. The torque band is wide, which is perfect for difficult conditions. Or choose the optional 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which uses cutting-edge eTorque tech. It provides an explosive 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque without a fuel economy penalty.
Speaking of conserving fuel, Jeep uses several methods to shed weight as a method to conserve natural resources. The doors, hood, fenders, hinges, and windshield frame are all made of high-strength aluminum. As for the swing gate in the rear, it's made of magnesium.
Another key design element for the Jeep Wrangler is the superior approach angle of 44 degrees, combined with a breakover angle of 27.8 degrees, and a 37-degree departure angle. They make crawling over obstacles on a trail so much easier and less risky. Ground clearance of 27.6 centimetres (10.9 inches) is also a big help.
