2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel
Posted on July 30, 2020
There's about to be a new option for shoppers at Caledon Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, because the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel is coming. While an official reveal of this new model hasn't happened yet, we can expect it will live up to the lofty reputation of Jeep SUVs. We also do know some important details about the Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel, which soon enough will be part of our dealer inventory. Read on to learn what we know so far and what to expect.
Engine
Of course, central to the upcoming 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel is the engine itself. The 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V-6 is a tough workhorse that produces the kind of torque people who want to venture off the road or tow want and need.
Peak output is impressive from the EcoDiesel engine. While 240 horsepower is a decent amount, it's the 420 lb.-ft. of torque that is the highlight. That kind of torque is helpful when towing a trailer, boat, camper, etc. It's also a nice thing for when you're in rugged terrain or if you need to get through a snow-packed road.
Properly equipped, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel should be able to tow the same amount as with the 5.7-litre Hemi V-8. The reason to choose the diesel engine is fuel efficiency. It should far surpass anything the Hemi can achieve in the city or on the highway, so you're saving money on running costs. Also, you're contributing less to pollution, which is a good thing.
Trims
You won't be able to add the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V-6 engine to just any Jeep Grand Cherokee model for 2019. It will be an option for Limited, Overland, and Summit models, so you'll need to select one of those more loaded versions of the SUV.
Jeep shouldn't be making any huge changes to the equipment for the 2019 model lineup, other than the new diesel engine.
Tech and More
You'll be getting more than just a highly efficient engine and great towing performance with the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel. Jeep will also be including some great technologies in the standard equipment, which should prove to be useful in everyday driving situations.
One of those new systems, blind spot monitoring, boosts safety by warning if another vehicle is in the next lane but out of sight. That's helpful, considering smaller cars can easily disappear in the SUV's blind spots.
The SUV also gains an updated Uconnect infotainment centre. Not only does it feature an 8.4-inch touchscreen, the system should be quite quick and even easier to use.
Some cosmetic changes are also coming with the Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel. Additional paint and wheel options are among them. For example, the Overland will ride on 20-inch Heritage wheels, which will be standard equipment for that model.
